Our Story & Mission

Tad Jacobs founded Treemasters in 1987 with three very simple principles: Honesty, Integrity, and Craftsmanship. Even after over 35 years, those principles continue to be our pledge to our clients. Our mission is to:

  • Provide quality tree care in an environmentally responsible manner using state-of-the-art tools and equipment, operated by highly trained individuals who use the safest work practices available.
  • Promote a positive work atmosphere that fosters creativity, input, and responsibility. We only employ courteous individuals who are seeking to build a long-term relationship with our company and our community.
  • Care for our employees and bolster local economies by treating our purveyors with admiration and respect. We employ highly skilled professionals and in turn pay a fair salary that supports their lives and families.

Treat our fellow tree care providers with respect, always helping them to deliver and promote high-quality and environmentally conscious tree care to all of their clients.

Above all, we as a team recognize that our most important goal is to provide great care and attention to the one tree we are working on at that moment.

Local certified arborists by Treemasters in San Rafael and the Bay Area
The First Call
No matter what service you need – residential, commercial, or utility – our staff is here to guide and inform the process. From your first call to Treemasters, you can expect courteous and prompt service. After the initial conversation, we will connect you with one of our certified, local Arborists based on your location and availability. Our goal in this stage is to get to know you and your needs so that we can connect you with the best Arborist for your project.
Arborist Visit
The next step would be to schedule an appointment with the certified arborist assigned to your project. They will take time to evaluate and understand your property and specific needs. This appointment typically takes about 30-45 minutes. During the meeting, you will have time to dig in (pun intended) to your ideas and get to know your assigned arborist. Take advantage of this time! Feel free to ask lots of questions. The goal is to start a relationship between you and your arborist, since they will work with you throughout the project. Regardless of what kind of work you’re looking to do around your property, the meeting is a great opportunity to discuss your options.
Proposal And Estimate
After the initial meeting with your Arborist, the next part of the process depends on requesting and accepting a proposal. Proposals are typically emailed to you within 24 hours of your request. To accept your proposal, read through the document and click “Accept” in the email. If you have any questions or need some edits to be made on the proposal, contact your Arborist or call our office.

Once the project estimate is approved, it’s time to schedule the project work. Your arborist will contact you directly to determine the best date for the work to begin. This may take several conversations depending on the project’s scope and complexity.
“Day Of” Work Experience
When it comes to the project work, our goal is to provide a comfortable, efficient, and pleasant experience for everyone involved. We understand that your schedule is busy, so you don’t need to physically be on your property while we work.

If you prefer to be home when the work is being performed, that’s fine too! You will get the opportunity to meet with the Crew Leader, who is briefed on your project’s proposal ahead of time.

Our goal is to provide effective communication throughout the process, including the day of. If you have any questions or concerns come up, you can reach out to the sales manager. Although our Treemasters staff expect every project to be as painless for everyone involved, it’s helpful to know you have someone to contact if something does come up.
Invoice And Follow Up
Are you concerned about what happens after the work is over? What about the invoicing process? These are understandable concerns, but rest assured that at Treemasters, we do everything possible to make sure you are fully satisfied with your experience. Once the work is complete, we will email you an invoice.

The logistics of cleanup after your project depends on the nature and scope of the work. For example, if the project involves tree removal, a separate crew will pick up the wood within a day or two. If stump grinding was requested, this will be scheduled for a later date after removal. Instead of worrying about logistics, invoicing, and every step in between, Treemasters works with you to make the experience successful and painless from beginning to end.
